Introduction To Digital Photography: Creative Camera Basics - Hoe Park - 11.30am - 3 hours

You have it your hands, that wonderful new DSLR camera with all of its mysterious dials & buttons. Now it is time to learn to use it properly ! There is a lot to learn about photography & each new new phase of knowledge delivers more control to the photographer ! This 3 hour session conducted at Plymouth's iconic Smeaton's Tower and the Hoe foreshore, will ease you into familiarity with your camera and will suit beginners and any intermediate photographers who feel like a refresher. In this session we will cover creative camera basics, including composition, framing and perspective. You will also learn how shutter speed, aperture & iso combine to produce a correctly exposed image. Above all it will be fun ! There will be lots to photograph and enjoy, as we move around and explore both landscape and architectural features of the area !

Beginner's Guide to Photography Class - Elder Park - 9:00am - 3 hours

Looking to improve your photography? Our Beginner's Class is a great place to start.

This 3 hour session is a photo walk that will have you weaned off of Auto mode, and transforming your everyday snaps into professional-looking shots, while enjoying inner Cityscapes and River Torrens views.

You will be learning what it is to get perfect focus and good exposure.

Basics of Photography/Beginners Session - Hobart Royal Botanical Gardens - 10am - 3 hours

Overwhelmed with all those camera buttons and dials? This session will teach you in a simple and easy-to-understand way, how to get off auto and into manual. The benefits of a shooting manual are huge and will make a big difference to your photography. We will go through the exposure triangle, basic metering, lighting, and more. So stop getting frustrated and take your photography to the next level in just 3 hours.

Urban Landscape Photography - Royal William Yard - 2.30pm - 2 hours

Become more familiar with your DSLR or mirrorless camera and and its manual controls. Learn something new about photographic composition, framing, and 'negative space' as you visually explore the atmospheric waterside location of Plymouth's Royal William Yard. This Grade 1 listed former naval yard will provide a grand architectural setting for students to practice their photographic skills on. There are many interesting details, perspectives and textures to capture throughout the site.
